Sail Boat Description

I am a beginner and looking at a boat which is described as a "16/3". Does that mean it is 16 Ft in length and has 3 sails?

Hi Mike

It could mean one of two things. Firstly, it could mean the boat is 16 feet and 3 inches long, which is what I would guess at. Secondly, it could be the name of the sailing range it is from like the ComPac 19/3 (which is also spelt as ComPac 19 III).
