Jules Verne, (some of you may have heard about him or even read one of his books) was one of the first science-fiction authors. He was born here in Brittany and wrote, amongst others, the story "Around the World in 80 days".

That's why the race I'm telling you about is called after him.

Yesterday the latest attempt to sail a new record succeeded with the incredible average speed across the ground of 24,6 knots in a total time of some hours more than 48 days.

In some of the images you can see the hydrofoils it partly rests on.
